AmeriCorps Vista Member- Summer Intern

  • Date Posted June 10, 2021

The United Way of the Adirondack Region is seeking an Americorps VISTA Member with great communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. The AmeriCorps VISTA program is a national service program that provides its members with a path to combat poverty in communities across the United States. VISTA Members serve 10 weeks in their positions for the summer, working full-time (40 hours per week) at a community non-profit, such as the Adirondack region's very own branch of the United Way. Projects can vary in scope, including but not limited to: grant writing, attending local committee meetings, working with/updating program databases, and recruiting program volunteers. For those hoping to move their career forward, experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA member is a great resume builder.

As an Americorps VISTA Member, you receive many fantastic benefits such as a living allowance, the choice between healthcare coverage or reimbursement, student loan relief, and an End of Service Award that can be used to pay for a range of educational expenses. For non-students, the End of Service Award is given as a cash stipend.  Start date is mid- June.
