Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Location: Plattsburgh and surrounding areas
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $19+/hr based on experience and qualifications
Job Summary:
Coryer Staffing is seeking skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operators to join well-known client's team. In this role, you will operate various types of heavy machinery—including excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders—to assist with construction and site development projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, a strong understanding of equipment safety, and a commitment to delivering quality work in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, skid steers,, and front-end loaders.
- Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
- Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
- Excavate trenches, dig foundations, and move earth or materials as required.
- Move and load materials, such as dirt, gravel, and debris
- Excavate and grade land for construction projects
- Operate equipment in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment (certification preferred).

Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.

Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:

Outdoor construction or industrial sites.

Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.

May require overtime and weekend work depending on project deadlines.
