Lead Machine Operator

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Machine Operator to oversee and coordinate the activities of our machine operators. The Lead Machine Operator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery, providing guidance and training to machine operators, and ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and oversee the operation of production machinery, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules.

  • Provide guidance, training, and supervision to machine operators to ensure they are performing their duties effectively and safely.

  • Monitor machine operators’ performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Troubleshoot issues with production machinery and coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures and conduct regular safety inspections of machinery and work areas.

  • Collaborate with production managers and other supervisors to prioritize production schedules and address any production issues or delays.

  • Keep accurate records of production activities, including machine downtime, production output, and quality control checks.

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating machine operators’ shifts and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience supervising or leading a team of machine operators.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot issues with production machinery.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate team members.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production targets and deadlines.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational or technical training in machine operation or a related field.

  • Experience operating specific types of machinery relevant to our industry.

  • Certification or training in safety procedures and protocols.

  • Forklift Certification

  • Overhead Crane Certification

Pay Rate: $24 – $28 per hour
