Position Title: Material Handler
Position Overview
Coryer Staffing is seeking a dedicated Material Handler for our client. This essential role involves managing materials effectively, including loading and unloading freight, ensuring timely delivery to production areas, and participating in the improvement of shipping and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Freight Handling: Efficiently load and unload freight to maintain production flow.
- Production Support: Expedite delivery of large items to production areas as needed.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of shipping and distribution processes through proactive recommendations.
- Team Collaboration: Support team members by participating in various tasks, fostering a cooperative work environment.
- Emergency Response: Quickly address emergency supply requests to minimize disruption.
- Adaptability: Perform additional duties as assigned by management, showing flexibility to meet business needs.
- Overtime Availability: Willingness to work overtime as required to support operational requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar capacity.
- Forklift operation experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient multitasking ability.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Effective reading and writing skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
Working Environment
- The position is primarily based in a manufacturing setting, which may include some outdoor work activities.
Shift
- The company runs both a first and second shift. Ability to work on both shifts is preferred.
Compensation
- Starting pay is $19/hr and a shift differential will be applied for 2nd shift.
