Position: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Plattsburgh, NY
Pay: $22+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: First Shift
Days: Monday to Friday (Overtime required as needed)
Job Summary: Coryer Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and meticulous Quality Control Inspector to join our client's manufacturing team in Plattsburgh, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that their products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will conduct inspections, tests, and audits to identify defects and ensure compliance with company specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Perform various tests (e.g., visual, mechanical, chemical) to ensure product specifications are met.
- Use measurement tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including defects, test results, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on quality issues and inspection findings to management.
- Document non-conformances and coordinate with relevant departments to address and resolve issues.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, industry regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance.
Problem-Solving:
- Identify root causes of quality issues and work with production teams to implement corrective actions.
- Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements.
- Assist in ISO audits.
- Train and mentor other staff members on quality standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in quality control or related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control or a similar role, preferably in manufacturing and HVAC.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Ability to speak both English and French preferred.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Fluent in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Good vision and manual dexterity to handle inspection tasks.
